Sankgeetha Vijay (née Sornalingam; born 7 November 1974) is a Sri Lankan Tamil British woman who was born to an affluent business family. She is the wife of the ninth chief minister of Tamil Nadu, C. Joseph Vijay.[2][3][4]

Early life and education

Sankgeetha Sornalingam studied at the University of London.[5]

Career

Sankgeetha and her family from her paternal side owns multiple businesses and financial markets around the United Kingdom and globally.[6][7]

Personal life

Sankgeetha married Vijay in 1999 in Chennai.[8][9] The couple also had 2 children, Jason Sanjay and Divya Saasha.[10]

Divorce speculation

In 2025, Sankgeetha filed for divorce.[11][12] In 2026, she filed a petition alleging that Vijay had denied her entry to their matrimonial home and infidelity with an unnamed actress.[13][14][15] The petition attracted media attention after Vijay appeared at an event with actress Trisha Krishnan.[14][16][17]
