Yerin Ha (Korean: 하예린) (born 16 January 1998) is an Australian actress. Known for her roles in the miniseries Bad Behaviour (2023) and The Survivors (2025), she gained wider recognition for starring as Sophie Baek in the fourth series of the period drama Bridgerton in 2026. == Early life and education == Yerin Ha was born on 16 January 1998 in Sydney, Australia, to South Korean parents. Her grandmother is Korean actress and politician Son Sook, and her parents met at drama school. Wanting to become an actress since a young age, but thinking it would be difficult in Australia because there were fewer Asian actors in Australian television, Ha decided to pursue acting in South Korea at her parents' recommendation, and at age 15 successfully auditioned for Kaywon High School of Arts in Seoul, where she trained for three years. She went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in acting, majoring in Musical Theatre from Sydney's National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in 2018. == Career == === Beginnings (2019–2022) === Ha played Maurice alongside Mia Wasikowska and Eliza Scanlen in the 2019 Sydney Theatre Company production of Lord of the Flies at the Roslyn Packer Theatre. She made her television debut with a recurring role in the American-French series Reef Break. In 2019, it was announced Ha had been cast in the Steven Spielberg-produced television adaptation of the video game Halo, and she would play a new character Kwan Ha. The series premiered on Paramount+ in 2022. Ha was named a rising star by the Casting Guild of Australia in November 2021. She was billed in the main cast of the ABC TV series Troppo as Ah Rah and made her feature film debut in Sissy. The latter premiered at the 2022 South by Southwest (SXSW). === Rising popularity (2023–present) === In 2023, Ha starred in the Stan series Bad Behaviour, a four-part adaptation of the novel of the same name by Rebecca Starford. Ha then appeared in HBO's Dune prequel series, Dune: Prophecy, as Young Kasha; the show was released in November 2024. In 2025, Ha starred in Netflix series The Survivors. In August 2024, Ha was cast as Sophie Baek, the love interest of Benedict Bridgerton, in the fourth series of Bridgerton, based on the third book of Julia Quinn's Bridgerton novel series, An Offer from a Gentleman. To honor Ha's South Korean roots, showrunner Jess Brownell changed Sophie's last name, which was Beckett in the novel, to Baek. To prepare for the role Ha made a playlist on Spotify to listen to which included the song "Into My Heart" (Korean: 그대가 이렇게 내 맘에) by Lee So-ra as well as songs by Benjamin Clementine and Billie Eilish.
