Principal photography began in October 2024, with initial filming in Delhi and Benaras, where Kriti Sanon joined the cast. == Plot ==
Shankar is an angry hot-headed young man who is the Dehli University Students Union President. Mukti is a research scholar who thinks violent men can be tamed. She makes Shankar the subject of her thesis subject to prove that point, and makes him fall in love with her. Their relationship develops during their time in college, but complications arise when Mukti completes her thesis and presents it to get her PhD. She decides to end their relationship and agrees to marry another man. Shankar decides turn his life around with the help of Murari, and enlists in the Indian Air Force as a pilot. Seven years later, when Shankar is a Flight Lieutenant, Mukti meets him again, however Shankar is unable to forgive her.

Rai revealed the idea of making Tere Ishq Mein was to put forward the sensibilities of Raanjhanaa keeping the Gen-Z audience in mind. The film marks the third collaboration between Rai and Dhanush. The distributors asked single-screen theatres to agree to allot 4 shows in the opening week and 2 shows next week; only then will they get to screen the film. The film was released in over 5100 screens across India in all 3 languages of Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
