The United States Special Envoy for The Shield of the Americas is a diplomatic position within the United States Department of State.[1]
History
The envoy is part of the Trump administration's Security Initiative in the Western Hemisphere that was announced on March 7, 2026.[2] On March 5, 2026,[3] shortly after firing former United States Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem from her previous role at the Department of Homeland Security, Donald Trump announced in a post to Truth Social his intention to name Kristi Noem to the position.[4]
