Carlos Alcaraz was the two-time reigning champion,^[1][2] but withdrew before the tournament due to a wrist injury.^[3] This marked Alcaraz's first absence from a major since the 2023 Australian Open.^[4]

Jannik Sinner is attempting to complete the career Grand Slam. He is also attempting to become the second man, after Rafael Nadal in 2010, to complete the Clay Slam.

Novak Djokovic is attempting to become the first player to win a record 25th major title, and the first man to complete the quadruple career Grand Slam. By making his 82nd major appearance, he will surpass Roger Federer and Feliciano López's joint all-time record for the most total major main draw appearances.

This tournament will mark the final French Open appearances of 2015 champion, three-time major champion and former world No. 3 Stan Wawrinka, and of former world No. 6 Gaël Monfils.

Entering as a lucky loser, Coleman Wong became the first player from Hong Kong to participate in the main draw of the French Open in the Open Era.^[5]
