Carlos Alcaraz was the two-time reigning champion,[1][2] but withdrew before the tournament due to a wrist injury.[3] This marked Alcaraz's first absence from a major since the 2023 Australian Open.[4]

Jannik Sinner is attempting to complete the Career Grand Slam.

Novak Djokovic is attempting to become the first player to win a record 25th major title, and the first man to complete a quadruple Career Grand Slam. By making his 82nd major appearance, he will surpass Roger Federer and Feliciano López's joint all-time record for the most total major main draw appearances.

This tournament will mark the final French Open appearances of 2015 champion, three-time major champion and former world No. 3 Stan Wawrinka, and of former world No. 6 Gaël Monfils.

Entering as a lucky loser, Coleman Wong became the first player from Hong Kong to participate in the main draw of the French Open in the Open Era.[5]
